MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Carson Biber, a financial advisor with Drake & Associates, joined us on Thursday, April 9 with information about new tax changes and tips for those who haven't filed yet.
Biber said changes from the One Big Beautiful Bill are impacting returns this year, including new deductions for seniors, tips and overtime pay, an increased child tax credit and adjusted tax brackets.
For last-minute filers, Biber recommended filing electronically and choosing direct deposit to avoid delays. Anyone with an adjusted gross income under $89,000 can use the IRS Free File program.
Those who can't meet the April 15 deadline can file for an extension through Oct. 15, though any money owed is still due by Tax Day.
