Early voting begins in Milwaukee
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) – A section of W. Greenfield Ave. was shut down Monday morning as crews began emergency repairs to the sanitary sewer.
Greenfield Ave. is closed between 72nd and 74th St. Crews are replacing a 100-year-old sanitary sewer that is failing.
Shops and stores along W. Greenfield Ave. were told about the repairs last week. One bakery owners says he’s expecting his business to take a hit during the construction.
“This takes us by complete shock because the entire road for parking and through traffic is closed down,” Aggie’s Bakery and Cake Shop co-owner Adam Purcell said. “At this point we have no choice obviously but to deal with it but it’s not good news.”
Traffic is being detoured to W. National Ave. The repairs are expected to be finished by March 30.
