MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Judy Cohen of Lakeside Educational Services joined us on Wednesday, May 6 to discuss speech and language disabilities.
Cohen explained the difference between speech, the physical production of sounds, and language, which covers understanding and using words to communicate. She walked through Wisconsin's eligibility criteria, the evaluation process and how various forms of language impairment, including vocabulary, grammar and social communication, can each affect a child's IEP.
