Driver dead after crashing into tree in Pleasant Prairie

CBS 58 PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person is dead following a crash in Pleasant Prairie early Wednesday, May 27.
It happened on 91st Street, near 22nd Avenue.
According to Pleasant Prairie police, preliminary investigation shows a driver traveling westbound on 91st Street when they left the roadway and struck a tree.
Police believe speed is a contributing factor, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
The identity of the victim will be released pending family notification.
