2 officers injured after squad car rolls during pursuit of shooting suspect

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee police squad car rolled onto its side during a pursuit on Wednesday, April 1, injuring two officers, according to MPD.

Officers say they spotted a vehicle wanted in connection to a shooting near Congress and Teutonia at around 5:38 p.m. and attempted a traffic stop. The driver reportedly refused and fled.

The chase ended near 6th and Concordia after stop sticks were deployed.

The 24-year-old driver was taken into custody, and police say illegal drugs were found in the vehicle.

Both officers were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The right three lanes were closed on I-43 northbound near Keefe Ave. after police chase and rollover crash during rush hour Wednesday evening, April 1. 

Traffic slowed down significantly due to the crash. 

The Milwaukee Fire Department has confirmed one person was transported to the hospital.
