Canceled, postponed events due to coronavirus -- here's a growing list

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread around the world, tournaments, events, games and businesses have been canceled, while others have been postponed or adjusted.

Here's a look at the growing list:

SCHOOLS

**ALL public and private schools K-12 in Wisconsin closing March 18 or sooner.**

MEDICAL FACILITIES 

SPORTING EVENTS 

  • American Hockey League (AHL) suspends season
  • Big Ten Conference cancels remainder of tournament effective immediately 
  • March Madness NCAA Basketball Tournament canceled
  • Milwaukee Admirals season suspended
  • Milwaukee Brewers Spring Training games canceled; Opening Day delayed at least two weeks
  • Milwaukee Bucks season suspended until further notice
  • Milwaukee Panthers, Horizon League suspends all competitions effective March 13
  • Milwaukee Wave and the Major Arena Soccer League end regular season effective immediately
  • National Basketball Association (NBA) suspends season March 11
  • National Hockey League (NHL) pauses 2019-20 season
  • NCAA cancels men's and women's Division I basketball tournaments
  • PGA cancels The Players Championship and all events through the Valero Texas Open
  • UW-Milwaukee Panthers athletic events all suspended
  • WIAA girls and boys state basketball tournaments cancelled.
  • WWE Live Road to Wrestlemania on March 28 has been cancelled.

LOCAL BUSINESSES AND PUBLIC PLACES

**ALL bars and restaurants closed in 16 Milwaukee County municipalities aside from carry-out and delivery effective March 17.**

LOCAL EVENTS

**Effective March 17 Gov. Evers has banned all gatherings of 10 people or more.**

Theirs over 700,000 people recovering from it I am still living and stop scare ing people is not the end of the world

No one is trying to scare people. Knowledge is power. People who are ignorant and don’t listen to common sense precautions are going to be a danger to everyone. People need information to stay safe or more people are going to get sick or die.
