Café Corazón set to close Bayview location, 26 employees to be terminated
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- Café Corazón is set to close its Bayview location in September, according to the Department of Workforce Development.
In a memo on their website, the DWD announced the business will begin terminating employees as a result of Café Corazón’s decision to cease operations and close its entire Bayview location on Kinnickinnic Avenue.
Roughly 26 employees will be let go come September 1, or anytime during the 14-day period thereafter.
The DWD says Café Corazón employees are not represented by a union and do not have any bumping rights.
They also said the business has provided as much advance notice as is practicable of the terminations.
Café Corazón does have two other locations, in Riverwest and Brown Deer. Both are expected to remain open.
