Brewers vs. Cubs Game 5 taking over Bluemound Road

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- If you could not make it to game 5, Bluemound Rd. was the place to be on Saturday night for baseball fans, with the Brewers and Cubs battling it out just miles away.

Brewers fans from across the area were enjoying the pregame festivities and feeling confident going into game 5.

Roger Nelson has been following the Brewers since they came to Milwaukee in 1970 and was at Kelly’s ON Bluemound before the game.

“It’s our year, we’re gonna do it,” Nelson said. “If we beat them the Dodgers are history.”

There were also several Cubs fans who made the trip to Milwaukee, including Harry Witzke.

“My son lives here; he got us tickets after game 4.” Witzke said. “Gotta go to game 5, have to be there.”

Witzke and his son were also at Kelly’s pregame.

“Nervous as a Cubs fan usually would be,” Witzke said. “I loved the Brewers when they were in the American League, not so much anymore.

Brewers fans we talked to pregame say they aren’t feeling any nerves and are confident in the home field advantage.

“I’m feeling optimistic, I think we can pull it off,” Brewers Fan Caleb Kopaczewski said. “We got a good vibe going on, the offense just gets going it can’t be stopped, we got good pitching, everything all around feels pretty good.”
