DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's been a few weeks since 1,500 beagles were released from the Ridglan Farms breeding facility in Dane County. That release followed protests which led to arrests.
But there are still 650 beagles at Ridglan Farms, and this coming Saturday, May 30, a protest will be held just outside the facility. Organizers say it will be peaceful. They want the rest of the dogs released.
"We're not going to give up on those dogs, we made that promise, and so we're going back to continue to bring awareness, and to let Ridglan Farms know we're not going to give up on any of these dogs until every single one has been released," said Kim Krueger, director of legislative affairs, Dane for Dogs.
The seller's license for Ridglan Farms expires on July 1, but they will still have a research license, allowing them to continue to breed dogs for their own in-house research.
