Firefighter and resident injured after fire consumes 3 homes in Fox Lake

FOX LAKE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two people are injured after Fox Lake firefighters battled a large fire early Sunday morning, Feb. along Howard Drive. 

At 2:41 a.m. firefighters reported to a structure fire at a residence along Howard Drive. Firefighters found upon arrival an initial home on fire and the flames extending to 4 neighboring homes.

The fire was then upgraded to a two-alarm fire, bringing in additional support. Crews were able to suppress the fire 10 hours after arrival. 

Three homes were consumed by the flames and are considered a total loss. 

One firefighter and one resident was transported to local hospitals with minor injuries. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
