MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thursday, May 14, a group of teens is set for future, in the trades.
When the kids graduate high school, they will almost immediately jump into the workforce.
Thursday is Apprenticeship Signing Day for 16 kids.
After high school, they'll be working at a trade company in jobs like plumbing.
Setting themselves up for long term success in fields that need workers.
"We actually have 16 receiving their cords today and when they're done graduating high school they're going to move on to an apprenticeship either with Local 601 Steam Fitters or Local 75 Plumbers or Local 18 Sheet Metal." said Jill Ackerman, assistant director of membership and work force development.
The 16 graduates have studied plumbing, sheet metal and steam fitters.
Congratulations to all the graduates!
