Zoo Interchange Work Now May Not Be Completed Until 2022

As part of the budget revealed on Thursday, Governor Walker said all of the work in the zoo interchange, specifically the North leg, wouldn't be done until 2022.

That two year delay aimed at closing a nearly one billion dollar hole in the transportation fund.

Governor Walker says he believes that drivers would prefer to have a longer wait for construction to finish than to have any new gas tax introduced to pay for it.

Josh Wicks said his daily detour of 10-15 minutes around the interchange every day is already adding up.

Walker also said that more discussions need to happen over the I-94 east/west corridor, and whether more lanes need to be added.

Another point that has some frustrated is a big delay on work on I-94 in Racine County.
