Brewers preview homestand, new fan plaza ahead of Cubs series
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A handful of Milwaukee's youth and city law enforcement spent the day in the sun on Tuesday, July 15.
In a yearly tradition, Camp Rise and the Milwaukee Police Department teamed up with hopes of cleaning up Pulaski Park.
Much to their surprise, when both parties arrived, the park was spotless!
Campers instead laced up their sneakers and spent the day playing sports with some of the city's officers.
The event not only gives back to the community but also creates a strong relationship between the city's youth and MPD.
"It is very important for us to build relationships with our young people so this is one of the ways we build trust and police legitimacy amongst our youth," said Marcey Patterson, community engagement manager for the Milwaukee Police Department.
Another Camp Rise cleanup will take place in two weeks at Kosciusko Park.
