MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Marathon is back!
Thousands of people from across the country took part in the run through downtown Milwaukee.
This year, the race is presented by the Milwaukee Bucks with the course starting and finishing at Fiserv Forum.
After two years of incorrect measurements and no marathon last year, the new owners say they’ve done everything to make things are right this time around.
“We had USATF certifiers on course today, actually riding before our runners went out to make sure the course was properly marked,” said Brad Scudder, president of the Milwaukee Marathon.
In the full marathon, the men’s winner was Martin Erl from Milwaukee.
"I wanted to go out easy and really just execute that last half, and everything came together," he said.
In women’s, the first to cross the finish line was Jessa Victor from Madison.
“Even coming in to the finish, you run alongside the half-marathoners and they were all cheering for me too."
