KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 52-year-old man is arrested in connection to a home invasion that left an elderly couple in the hospital.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Office says Daniel Evans was arrested Friday and is accused of a home invasion and shooting in the Town of Somers late last month.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Evans has an extensive criminal history.

Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said Evans was caught in a high speed car chase on Friday. He was in the car with his girlfriend, her daughter, her daughter's boyfriend, and their 6-month-old baby.

Evans allegedly stole two phones from the house he broke into. Sheriff Beth says those two phones are what led to his arrest.

Evans is now facing charges for home invasion as well as Friday's chase and a separate burglary in Kenosha that happened in September.
