MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Kyle Fraser, a 31-year-old attorney from Brooklyn, emerged as the winner of Survivor season 48 during the show’s 3-hour finale Wednesday night, taking home the $1 million prize.
Fraser, who competed on Mamanuca Islands in Fiji, joined us on Friday, May 23 to chat about the win.
He said he first watched the show during season 40, called his experience on islands "incredible" and added, "I knew that I wanted to play Survivor the moment that I saw the game." He emphasized a people-first approach, saying, "This is not poker, this is not human chess, this is a game about relationships."
Fraser said he plans to use the $1 million prize to repay student loans and support his family.
"Now I finally could do that for other people," he said. Fraser married shortly after filming concluded.
