4:30pm Update:

As of now, all severe thunderstorm warnings, tornado warnings, and severe thunderstorm watch are expired.  The initial line of storms we have seen this evening are expired and this line really helped take the energy out of the atmosphere that would be needed for stronger storms this evening.  The enhanced risk is still active for all of Southeast Wisconsin, but this will likely be dropped within the coming hours.  While the severe chance is low, it is not zero, and if it were to happen, it would be north of Milwaukee between 7-pm.

The environment will recharge by tomorrow with another severe risk.  The timing of this is between 1-8pm, and as of now we are still under an enhanced risk.  All types of severe weather are possible.

Updated 2:20 pm:

A new severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Walworth and Jefferson counties until 3:15. The warning has been expanded north until 3:30 for Dodge and Fond du Lac counties.

Damaging winds to 60 mph are possible.  There's a lot of tree damage around the Madison and Fitchburg areas as the storms have passed.

We do expect more warnings to be issued further east.  Stay away from windows.

All remain quiet in our corner of the state as of late this morning. Currently there are storms in northeast WI. Those continue to move away from us. But there are also numerous storms in Iowa and Missouri. Those storms are heading this way as they travel northeast at 45mph. Here's the latest radar:

As of now, there is one Severe Thunderstorm in central Iowa. The main hazard with this is the potential for 60mph wind gusts. There's also a broad area to our south under a Flood Watch until Thursday morning with excessive rainfall possibly leading to a couple inches of accumulation in heavy storms or areas with repeated storms overhead. The risk here locally will grow after 2pm. Stay with the CBS58 weather team and we will bring you updates as needed and break in live on air and live streamed to our app should weather warrant.

Updated: 10:28 a.m. June 10, 2026

The cluster of storms in northern Wisconsin has continued to stay to our north. A few showers or a rogue storm may click Fond du Lac and Sheboygan Counties around noon but most of that should stay away.

Here's a state view of the radar that will update with time to track those morning storms:

Some morning fog made for a slow start to our warming on Wednesday but temperatures are already soaring through the 80s in our southwest counties. These areas have the best chance to get to 90 today. With the slow start and the fog Milwaukee likely stays in the 80s. Feel like temps could still hit the mid to upper 90s in some areas with all of the humidity.

Here are current temps that will update with time:

All other timing and severe threats outline below remain on track. The best timing for severe storms Wednesday is from 2-6 Pm but isolated strong to severe storms are possible after that window through early Thursday morning.

The storms both Wednesday and Thursday will be efficient rain makers. A half to inch and a half of rain can be expected with the storms on Wednesday and Thursday's storms could drop even more rain. Most of SE Wisconsin gets 2-4" of rain by Thursday night. Flash flooding and wet basements are likely.

It is a foggy start to our Wednesday. A dense fog advisory is in effect for all of our lakeside and some inland counties until 7 AM for all of that fog. The cluster of severe storms we were watching Tuesday night looks like it will stay to our north with parts of northern Wisconsin under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch.

In southeast Wisconsin, the better timing for storms will be during the mid-afternoon hours through the evening. So, if you have morning plans or even lunch plans you should be good to go. The round of storms during the afternoon Wednesday looks to be the strongest of the day, but any areas that don't see the afternoon storms could get severe storms in the evening. More storms are possible Wednesday night but should end shortly after midnight.

All of southeast Wisconsin, and almost the entire state, remain under a Level 3 Enhanced Risk for severe storms. Any storms that happen Wednesday will likely be strong to severe, especially in the afternoon.

Damaging wind will be the main threat with most storms but a few tornadoes are definitely possible. The flash flooding threat is also there but looks like more of a threat for storms on Thursday. Some hail will be possible as well.

All of the storms are tapping into energy created by very warm temps and high humidity levels. Highs on Wednesday will likely happen in the early afternoon before the storms arrive and reach the upper 80s with some making a run at 90 degrees for the first time this year. Dew points will stay in the low 70s today leading to tropical level humidity. The warmth combined with the humidity will push heat index values into the upper 90s in some areas.
