Happy Start to Summer! Wednesday, June 21 brings in the start of the new season. The solstice officially begins at 9:57 a.m.
It is the longest daylight day of the year. The sunrise time on this start to summer was 5:12 a.m. and the sunset is 8:34 p.m. which accounts to almost exactly 15 hours and 22 minutes.
Last year the first day of summer featured the first 100* temperature of the decade. This year we won't be that warm and will be pretty close to average with highs hovering around 80 lakeside and into the middle 80s inland. Temps stay pretty steady through the end of the work week then we see a lake breeze go away for the weekend with temps reaching the middle 80s.
