Happy Spring! The Spring Equinox officially happens at 9:46 AM local time kicking off the new season!

Earlier in the week we had our 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night. We've already gained almost ten minutes of daylight this week with a sunrise time Friday a few minutes before 7 AM and a sunset a few minutes after 7 PM.

The new season starts very warm with highs reaching into the upper 50s on Friday, about ten degrees warmer than average. The cooler air doesn't really role in until next week but even those 40s are closer to average than the 50s and 60s on Friday and Saturday.

We could see a few sprinkle Saturday morning. We had some of those sprinkles Thursday night and there's another chance Friday night. This time they might linger a bit longer through noon on Saturday. Any precipitation we see should be very light, but something to keep in mind if you want to get outside Saturday.

By Saturday afternoon the temps warm into the upper 50s as the wind shifts to the southwest. Overall, Saturday is the pick day of the weekend. Sunday will be about twenty degrees cooler in the 40s and blustery with wind gusting to 30 mph. Sunday has a chance for showers, mainly in the morning and mostly of the rain variety, but if any precipitation lingers into the afternoon it could mix with a little snow.
