MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- While the calendar says spring, it doesn't look or feel like it.
However, dozens of people drove through the snow for the first day of beer garden season on Wednesday.
The opening of the South Shore Terrace beer garden is usually a sign of spring but instead, it looks more like a snow globe. When Milwaukee Parks was faced with the forecast, the answer was simple.
"I asked are we still going to do this? The answer yes, but why wouldn't you? This is Wisconsin. Rain, snow, sleet, wind -- good weather to drink beer," said Steve Taylor with Milwaukee Parks.
It's 30 degrees and snowing, but that didn't stop people from ringing in spring with a sense of humor and a beer in hand, both inside and out.
The South Shore Beer Garden is open Wednesday through Friday from 4pm-10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11am-10pm. For more information, please click here.
