Second half rally powers Marquette past DePaul

MILWAUKEE - Davante Gardner scored 28 points in his first start in almost two years, as the Marquette Golden Eagles picked up their first Big East win 66-56 over DePaul.


Gardner scored 21 of his points after halftime. Jamil Wilson added 14 for MU (9-6, 1-1 Big East).


Trailing by 10 points in the second half, the Golden Eagles went on an impressive extended run to tie the game and then take the lead. Marquette had lost its conference opener at Creighton.
