KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A casino may be coming to Kenosha, but not everyone is on board with the idea.
In a public hearing on Thursday, Nov. 9, many people spoke out against the plan.
The proposal would have the Menominee tribe partner with Hard Rock to build a casino off I-94, in the western part of the city.
Some community members who spoke tonight said the casino would bring more visitors and be good for Kenosha businesses.
Others say they moved there to raise their kids, but building a casino will likely lead them to move out.
"I don't want my kids around that, I have teenagers now, I don't want them driving near a casino where there will likely be intoxicated people also driving by them, new drivers, no one needs that, but definitely not new drivers," said a community member who spoke at the public hearing.
"The reason I want it is because I'm a businessman and I want to make money," said another community member.
The Kenosha County board will meet next week to discuss the casino project.
