Racine Sheriff's Deputies Administer Narcan to Passed Out Driver
On February 17 at approximately 4:54 PM the Racine County Communications Center received a call stating there was a male driver asleep at the wheel in the middle of the intersection of South Wind Lake Road at Milwaukee Avenue in the Town of Norway.
Upon arrival, Racine County Deputies found the male driver a 35-year-old Village of Rochester resident slumped over the wheel, unresponsive and breathing.
Deputies on scene determined the cause of unresponsiveness to be related to the use of heroin and administered Naloxone Hydrochloride (Narcan) and the party became alert.
The man was later taken into custody and held in the Racine County Jail for felony OWI 4th offense, operating while revoked, and possibly other drug related charges.
Racine Sheriff’s Deputies are trained in the use of Naloxone Hydrochloride (Narcan) which is available for all Racine Sheriff patrol vehicles.
