MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A group of demonstrators in Milwaukee gathered Saturday, March 21, to protest the Trump Administration's pressure on Cuba.

Hosted by the Wisconsin Cuba Coalition, the group met at the intersection of Locust and Oakland on the city's upper east side.

They say after the operation to remove Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela and the ongoing war in Iran, the United States should not pursue any kind of military action in Cuba.

They are also demanding the Trump Administration lift sanctions and the economic blockade against Cuba, pointing to blackouts the country often endures.

"The Cuban people, they deserve the chance to be able to trade with others, to have their medicines and life-saving aid to live," said protester Jamie Alverado. "So, it's not right for any government or party to deny the Cuban people their sovereignty."

Besides the protest itself, the group says they're also standing the advocates from Wisconsin who are in Cuba this weekend, donating medical supplies to the people who live there.
