MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Milwaukee School Superintendent Dr. Keith Posley laid out his vision for MPS Wednesday morning.
Dr. Posley has been serving as interim superintendent since May and on Tuesday night the school board officially gave him the job by a unanimous vote.
Dr. Posley takes over at a time when MPS students are not performing well in state academic tests. He says he has a plan to change that and it includes targeted teaching.
"Making sure that we drill down on items that our young people maybe have missed on the tests, drill down, take an item analysis, take a look at that and then build our professional development around that work and gear our teaching to that work to make sure that our young people are getting exactly what they need," said MPS Superintendent Dr. Keith Posley.
Dr. Posley says he'll deliver his instructional plan to the school board tomorrow. Hear more about Dr. Posley's plans to improve MPS below.
