NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It's a late night for students in New Berlin, playing a little three on three basketball until midnight on Friday, March 15.
It took place at New Berlin West High School. Similar division programs got started over 30 years ago all over the country. It's a way for police to connect with kids.
New Berlin police officers came prepared to check scores and keep the brackets going at the double elimination tournament.
"This is just another place for them to get together on a Friday night, something safe and constructive to do, you know get out of the basement, stop gaming maybe," said Officer Tony Fus with the New Berlin Police Department.
New Berlin police hold a similar program in the summer for volleyball.
