MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Hundreds of Milwaukee Public School students spent the day at Miller Park, but not for baseball. They were there for the district’s “World Fair” where students could learn about different cultures.
The fair is described as a model UN and it’s something district officials say will have a long-term impact on students.
“So for them to look across the classroom and better understand where someone’s family came from or where their fellow student came from, that’s incredibly beneficial,” said MPS Media Manager Andy Nelson.
More than 13,000 students showed off their projects at the World Fair Tuesday.
The fair also featured dances and a fashion show.
