MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The city of Milwaukee’s Christmas tree is now at City Hall.
On Monday morning, crews from the Department of Public Works cut down the tree from a home near W. Cold Spring Rd. and Honey Creek Drive. The 37-foot Colorado Blue Spruce was donated by Daniel and Calina Badillo.
After being harvested, the tree was brought downtown by a police escort.
“This one was just smooth as silk, this one came down very nicely,” Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett said. “It’s a good start to the day, good start to the week and a good start to the holiday season.”
The tree will be decorated by DPW Forestry staff. The tree lighting ceremony is set for November 15.
