Wisconsin Salt Awareness Week: How to reduce salt pollution
MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to celebrate responsibly on this New Year’s holiday.
Authorities say deputies will be out enforcing the initiative, Operation Drive Sober. If you plan on drinking, the sheriff’s department asks you to make a transportation plan ahead of time.
Milwaukee County Transit System is partnering with Miller Lite to provide free bus rides.
The free MCTS rides start at 8 p.m. on Monday until the end of regular service. Popular routes including GreenLine, BlueLine, Routes 14, 15, 19, 27, 30/30X will have extended service until 4 a.m. The GoldLine will extend service to Brookfield Square Mall until 3 a.m.
Additionally, MCSO says if residents shoot off guns to celebrate the New Year, they will be arrested.
