Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett spent Wednesday morning walking part of the Milwaukee streetcar route. The mayor walked the construction area with several of the workers on this project.
The walk is part of his 100 miles in 100 days challenge and downtown employee appreciation week.
Barrett gave walkers an update on streetcar construction progress, "Fortunately, right now, we're on budget and on time. That's really good news. There have been some minor disruptions and we want our motorists and pedestrians to know that these are temporary changes while we get those tracks installed. I think anytime your daily routine is altered in anyway, that can be frustrating."
Barrett said they plan on working into the winter to finish.
After the walk with the Mayor, construction workers took a little breakfast break before getting back to work.
