Major intersection in Third Ward to close for streetcar construction this weekend

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The City of Milwaukee DPW has announced that the intersection of E. St. Paul Avenue and N. Water Street in the Historic Third Ward will be completely closed to traffic starting 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10 through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, November 13 for work on the streetcar through a busy intersection.

Detour routes include using E. Clybourn (one way heading westbound) and N. Milwaukee St. (two-way traffic) to negotiate this closure.

In addition, the Historic Third Ward will offer free parking in the structure located at 212 N. Milwaukee St. from Saturday, November 11 at 6:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12. The Milwaukee Public Market at the corner of E. St. Paul & N. Water St. also will have free parking during the same time frame.
