Lyft offering free rides to Milwaukee March for Our Lives participants

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Lyft will be offering free rides to those participating in the March for Our Lives demonstrations happening around the country on March 24.

Lyft Co-Founders John Zimmer and Logan Green shared their support for the civic engagement the students at Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida have inspired by offering free Lyft rides to marches around the country.

“Your bravery and intelligence have provided a renewed and much needed hope for our future. We are incredibly grateful for the example you are setting,” they wrote in a letter to the students.

The company has pledged up to $1.5 million in free rides for the march.

If you are attending the march in Milwaukee you can claim your free ride by RSVPing to the rally at www.marchforourlives.com/events. Those who RSVP will get a ride code on Friday, March 23. Ride codes will also be available at www.lyft.com/MFOL starting Saturday morning for those who can't RSVP.

For the code to work, you must enter the official March for Our Lives rallypoint as your destination. Rallypoint details will be available in the Lyft app after entering the code. Anyone riding who is under 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Milwaukee is one of 50 cities where Lyft is offering the free rides.
