MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Local students are making a difference on a global scale.
At the Baird Center last week, over 100 middle school students recently helped assembled 3,000 school packs to be sent to South Sudan.
Over 4,000 people gathered at the Wisconsin Center District last week for Cru 2025, which is one of the largest Christian gatherings in the country.
The school packs are a way to get the member's children involved in the ongoing effort of the Cru organization to give back.
"I think it's valuable for kids here, especially where we are coming from to get an idea of what it is, what we would call being the hands and feet of Jesus. That they are out demonstrating the kindness of Christ as well as talking to other people about him," said Clint McClure, vice president of field operations for Unto.
Unto, which is the humanitarian branch of Cru, spreads their work to over 50 countries around the world.
