Kenosha Police Release Information on Thursday Night's Incident
Officers of the Kenosha Police Department were called to a residence in the area of the 4000 block of 29th Avenue in reference to a suicidal subject on Thursday night.
According to Kenosha Police Department, upon arrival, the caller reported that a family member made statements about getting a gun and ending his life.
Police said further investigation indicated that the subject made comments about “suicide by cop.”
Less than an hour later, Officers located the subject’s vehicle in the 4800 block of 5th Avenue.
Due to the dark tint of the vehicle’s windows, Officers were unable to determine if anyone was in the vehicle but did notice that the vehicle’s engine was running.
Officers made several attempts to make contact with any occupant of the vehicle but there was no response.
Due to the threats of “suicide by cop,” the Kenosha County Tactical Response Team was called to the scene.
After several more attempts to make contact with any occupant of the vehicle, a tactical approach was made to the vehicle.
A lone, male subject was located inside the vehicle and was deceased due to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The body was removed by the Medical Examiner’s office.
According to police, the investigation is ongoing.
