Gordon wins 2014 Doak Walker Award

Badgers junior running back Melvin Gordon won the 2014 Doak Walker Award, given to the nation's best running back, Thursday evening.

The Kenosha native currently leads the nation with 2,336 rushing yards, already a Big Ten record and 293 yards away from breaking the NCAA FBS record held by Oklahoma State's Barry Sanders. His 29 touchdowns this season also leads the nation.

Gordon was also named a Walter Camp First-Team All-American running back. He was also named a finalist for the Maxwell Award for the nation's top player. Oregon's Marcus Mariota won that award.
