Gearing up for Winter at Sunburst Ski Resort

(Kewaskum)--We knew it got cold overnight. First Alert Weather warned us. But cold enough to make snow? Sunburst Winter Sports Park in Kewaskum believes so. In fact it produced eight inches of snow overnight at one of its terrain parks.

Tracy Herman lives close to Sunburst. She visits several times a year with her two kids. They love to go tubing. With the snow on the ground, she knows her winter fun is now one step or slide closer to reality.

Once the resort is fully open and operation, probably around Thanksgiving, there will be more to enjoy, including 20 additional tubing lanes, an extra lift, new ski shop, and even a newly installed boot dryer system. This is all part of a quarter to half million dollar expansion.

It's estimated 65 thousand skiers visit during the season. Last year Sunburst stayed open for five months during the winter season. Those with the Washington County ski resort hope at least this much will fall this winter.
