MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A 3-year-old Milwaukee girl was laid to rest on Tuesday.

Loved ones gathered at the New Pitts Mortuary to honor Brooklyn Harris who was killed during a road rage shooting earlier this month.

The funeral home was covered in Harris' favorite things, pink and Minnie Mouse. Family and friends are remembering her as a little girl who loved her siblings and had a beautiful smile.

"She was all of that, energetic, happy, loved to eat, smile, play, make everybody else smile," Family friend Gwendolyn Evans said.

39-year-old Antonio Bratcher is facing charges for shooting into the car Harris was in on July 13. Mayor Tom Barrett went to the services on Tuesday to pay his respects. He says the entire situation is heartbreaking.

"So unbelievably reckless, this is just beyond words," he said. "The actions that were taken to cause her to lose her life, just beyond words."

Harris' grandmother says the violence needs to end.

"Somewhere it needs to stop," Lasangna Fields said. "So, I'm praying whoever is thinking they might do this to somebody, they think twice and put the guns down."

Brooklyn's dad, Shawndell, is also asking the community to think before that act, as he remembers his daughter who was taken too soon.

"I miss you a lot," he said.

Harris was laid to rest at Glen Oaks Cemetery. Bratcher is expected in court on Thursday.
