Franklin Police Detective Unexpectedly Passes Away

FRANKLIN - The Franklin Police Department announced today the passing of a current department member.

Detective Kevin Liermann passed away unexpectedly on Saturday. He was 39-years-old.

According to the Franklin Police Department, Kevin served the department with distinction for over 17 years in various assignments in both the Patrol Division and the Detective Bureau. In addition to his regular duties, he was also a valued member of the SWAT team as well as a department instructor.

Franklin Police said in part: Kevin was known for his memorable smile and laugh. He would do anything to help you. Kevin's dedicated service to our department and our community is beyond reproach. He will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. 

Visitation for Kevin will be Friday, March 31st at Max A Sass and Sons Funeral Home - Mission Hills Chapel from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Detective Kevin Liermann fund. Donations can be made at any BMO Harris Bank location. All donations will be used for Isabelle and Emma's education expenses.
