Flight for Life called after 19-year-old Hartford man crashes car into tree

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 19-year-old man was seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash in the Town of Addison.

The crash happened shortly before 9 a.m. on Monday on Hwy W, approximately .1 mile south of Crooked Road. 

Rescue crews arrived on the scene and located a severely damaged car in the west ditch line of Hwy W.  The 19-year-old Hartford man required extrication from the vehicle and was flown to a local hospital via Flight for Life.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the crashed vehicle was northbound on Hwy W when it veered left into the southbound lane of travel. The vehicle left the roadway, entered the west ditch line, and struck a tree.

The victim's injuries are considered serious but non-life threatening. No one else was injured in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation but driver fatigue and inattentiveness are believed to be contributing factors.
