MADISON, WI (CBS 58) -- State Department of Human Services Secretary Designee Andrea Palm told reporters during a press conference Monday, shipments from the Strategic National Stockpile fell short of the state's request.
Palm reported the state had received its final shipment from the federal stockpile. She said the state had received:
- 104,680 N95 respirators
- 260,840 surgical masks
- 48,168 face shields
- 40,512 surgical gowns
- 192 coveralls
- 140,750 gloves
Palm said the supplies will be distributed to hospitals, long term care facilities, and emergency medical service providers.
"What we've received from the national stockpile barely meets the need or the request from the Wisconsin health care system," said Palm.
Palm explained the stockpile rations its items based on a state's population.
She said the state has received donated supplies and purchased others to send to police and firefighters.
Those include:
- 15,100 N95 respirator
- 24,200 surgical masks
- 2,047 coveralls
- 33,600 gloves
