Family looks for help to raise money for service dog

FT. ATKINSON -- The family of a four-year-old Wisconsin boy is hoping for a life-changing, and possibly life-saving arrival of a service dog.
The boy’s name is Talon, and he’s living with Type 1 diabetes.
But a form of autism makes it just about impossible for Talon to recognize, or even show signs of dangerous blood sugar spikes or falls.
So if a specially trained dog from California is by Talon’s side, then it will be able to recognize these potentially deadly changes before anybody else.
“Some kids have continuous monitors that are attached to them or insulin pumps. He doesn’t have any of that. With his sensory issues and his length of diagnosis and just not being able to understand everything, he’s not able to get one of those.” said Talon’s mother, Samantha.
The family has only raised $10,000 of the $15,000 dollars they need for the service dog.
