Falls Lavender Fest is back for a 5th year with lavender scents, foods and colors

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Menomonee Falls Lavender Fest has quickly become a favorite over the past few years.
"There's been such a buzz, and we have people from Illinois, Sheboygan and Madison come out for it," said Michelle Frie, the downtown district director in Menomonee Falls.
The festival celebrates every facet of the budding flower, from its color to the smell and taste.
At Falls Lavender Fest, and the businesses around Village Park, you'll find lavender in everything from chocolate bars to soap bars, lavender butter, pizza and lemonade.
"They have lavender cheesecake and lavender ice cream, and the restaurants have their lavender cocktails," said Frie. "We have our famous lavender lemonade where all of the proceeds will go to [combat] human trafficking."
While lavender is center stage for the fest, it's also a time to show off all that the Menomonee Falls community has to offer with food trucks, live music, a beer garden and kid-friendly activities.
Falls Lavender Fest is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19.
