Emergency Warming Room to Open with Cold Temperatures

Repairers of the Breach, a daytime shelter for Milwaukee’s homeless population, is preparing for the upcoming cold temperatures by opening their Emergency Warming Room to the city’s homeless.

Repairers of the Breach, which is usually open 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM will open its Emergency Warming Room this weekend with temperatures expected to drop. The room, which is open from 8:00 PM until 7:00 AM, is opened when the forecast is expected to be 10°, or the wind chill is -10°.

As one of the only shelters with this Warming Room, Repairers of the Breach is expecting a large crowd as the weather gets colder. To support the Emergency Warming Room, Repairers of the Breach is asking for the following donations:

  • Monetary donations to support increased staff, energy bills and water bills
  • Pillows and pillow cases
  • Blankets
  • Extended hour hand warmers
  • Winter boots, hats and gloves
  • Brown bag lunches

Individuals interested in supporting Repairers’ Emergency Warming Room are encouraged to contact Pastor James West, executive director, at (414)595-6447 or [email protected].
