MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Real or fake? That's the debate every holiday season over which Christmas tree to choose.

But one Mount Pleasant store is hoping you'll choose the former, as they still have hundreds left to sell with only a few days remaining.

Kristin Borzynski, the general manager for Borzynski's Farm & Floral Market, said she ordered 400 trees this year.

But so far, she's only been able to sell a little over half of that amount, she said isn't the norm.

"To me, there's nothing like a real tree," Borzynski said. "As good as artificial ones get, it's not the same. It's not the smell, it's not the touch, it's not the feel."

She noted that she believes the issue is the economy tightening people's pockets.

"I think that it's really hard for people who are struggling right now, to not have a tree if they can't afford one, especially if they have children, to say, we don't have enough money because we can't afford groceries or we need to buy presents, so we're not getting a tree," Borzynski said.

That's why she decided, for the first time, to create a "let's make a deal" offer, letting people decide a reasonable price for one of the remaining trees.

"I had a lady come in last night and say, hey, my daughter saw this and she doesn't really have any money, and I said, well, what do you think?" Borzynski said. "And she said, well how about $20 dollars? And I'm like well go pick yourself out a tree!"

The customer was able to secure one of the smaller trees, about six or seven feet tall, for that price.

"I mean I think there's a lot of hardcore nostalgic people who can't think of it without the tree, but a lot of people are like hey, right now, I can't afford that for a live tree," Borzynski said. "And I was happy to do that, because it's like well that's one more person who's gonna enjoy a tree this year."

Any leftover trees will be donated, but Borzynski added that she hopes they all find a home.
