MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- When Marquette's season ended, the work was just starting for David Joplin.

Joplin says he knows that "I'm going to have to outwork guys."

So, he has. David was named MVP of the Reese's college All-Star game, going seven for eight from the field. Then, he moved out to Vegas to train full-time before his pro day in front of most NBA teams.

"It's wild, this is what I've been working on my whole life," Joplin says. "It is everything I've ever wanted, I'm so excited to be able to do it and just put everything I have into it and try my best."

The next few weeks are crucial for David; he'll bounce around from team to team for workouts and interviews. He's already met with the Timberwolves and Hawks, with the Grizzlies, Nets and Bucks on the horizon.

CBS 58's Scott Grodsky asked him, "What does an NBA team get by drafting you?"

"Extremely hard worker," Joplin said. "Guy that's willing to do whatever is asked of him. I can make open shots, and I can play defense."

No one knows for sure what to expect from the draft. David could go in the second round, or he could be undrafted, just like one of his mentors, fellow Marquette grad Wesley Matthews, who carved out a 15-year career. But whatever happens, David says, "it's the beginning of the story."
