MEQUON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Lakeshore Chinooks will adopt the name Wisconsin Beer Bellies during a promotional weekend series against the Wausau Woodchucks at Moonlight Graham Field. The rebrand includes themed uniforms, $1 12-ounce beers, limited-edition merchandise and a best beer belly contest.
Director of ticket sales Nick Penge, general manager Arie Bankston and corporate accounts manager Harrison Carter joined us Wednesday, July 23 to offer a preview the rebrand.
They said the alternate identity is a tribute to Wisconsin’s baseball culture, brewing heritage and self-deprecating humor.
A uniform auction begins Saturday, July 26 and runs through the end of Sunday’s game on July 27. The first 500 attendees Saturday will receive a free Beer Bellies hat. Additional themed food, beverages and in-game promotions are planned throughout the weekend.
