MPD: 1 killed in crash near Appleton and Capitol

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) --The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that took place Saturday, Nov. 18, around 8:30 a.m., near Appleton and Capitol. 

According to police, one vehicle was traveling eastbound, when it crashed into another vehicle that was traveling westbound, negotiating a left turn onto Appleton. The driver of the vehicle that was crashed into was transported to a local hospital and died from injuries of the crash. The 40-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the hospital. 

The driver of the first vehicle was a 34-year-old, who was taken into custody. 

The investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
