WisDOT June 5 updates: Weekend closures to Mitchell Interchange
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summer is a time for fun, especially for kids but it's very important kids continue to learn even outside of the school year.
Thursday, June 24, SHARP Literacy kicked off its seventh annual summer learning program at the Milwaukee Christian Center, and it's partnering with American Family Insurance and the Milwaukee Brewers -- so naturally the Brewers Racing Sausages were in attendance.
It's all in an effort to get kids interested in learning.
"Our mission is to partner with educators to foster a love of learning and brighten children's futures through our STEAM-based program," said President and CEO of SHARP Literacy, Linda Kohler.
This summer, the programs will reach a record number of students; more than 800 children in K-4 through fifth grade, at 27 urban schools and community learning centers throughout Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties.
