Beaver Dam man sentenced to 9 years in prison for armed robbery 28 days after he was released from prison

BEAVER DAM, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 35-year-old Beaver Dam man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for armed robbery of a restaurant in March.

According to authorities, Kyle Rach walked into Marcos Pizza on Maple Avenue in Beaver Dam and threatened employees with a gun and stole $110 from the cash register. 

After he was caught, Rach admitted to being on a crack cocaine binge prior to the robbery and as well as during the robbery. The robbery was the means to obtain more money to purchase more crack cocaine. Rach has a record spanning more than 20 years including seven burglaries. He was released from his most recent prison sentence 28 days prior to the Marcos Pizza robbery.
