Barn fire in Kenosha County, no animals hurt, two officers injured
WHEATLAND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kenosha County officials responded to a barn fire in the town of Wheatland in Kenosha County at 8:07 p.m. this evening, on May 1.
Officials say the barn still had horses inside.
According to deputies, the horses in the barn were rescued by the owners of the home. Officials say they do not have any injuries.
One of the homeowners was taken to a hospital for possible smoke inhalation. The barn was completely destroyed by the fire, officials say.
However, there were no other damages in the surroundings.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, according to officials.
A KSD Sergeant and Deputy were injured by a piece of firefighting equipment that knocked them down to the ground, officials say.
The KSD Sergeant was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials say the Deputy was treated and released at a local hospital.
